Joseph Hale

Joseph Hale is a Senior Associate with over 12 years of experience in economic research and consulting. His areas of focus include the management and evaluation of complex commercial cases related to intellectual property and patent infringement, antitrust, class actions, and employment disputes; publication of economic impact studies; data analysis; writing and editing; and calculations of effective royalty rates, reasonable royalties, and damages. Mr. Hale has managed litigation matters in state and federal courts, at the U.S. International Trade Commission, and at arbitration. His work covers numerous industries, including telecommunications, cable and satellite television, consumer electronics, software, pharmaceuticals, energy, food and beverages, entertainment, professional sports, tourism, and others.

Recently, Mr. Hale co-authored a study analyzing the local economic benefits expected in the City of Inglewood and the County of Los Angeles from hosting Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in February 2022. He also co-authored an economic impact study of the 2018 NBA All-Star Game (hosted at the Staples Center) on LA County. In 2017, Mr. Hale and his colleagues investigated the costs associated with delays in resolving disputes at the federal court level compared with arbitration; the findings were published in a paper and presented at the Pepperdine University School of Law.

Prior to joining Epsilon Economics, he was a Principal and Senior Consultant at Micronomics.

Mr. Hale received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Geography/ Environmental Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
