Scott Phillips, CPA

Scott Phillips is a Managing Director and forerunning expert in the economic aspects of trademarks, brands, advertising, reputation and related areas.  He assists companies in valuation and strategy projects, and has provided expert testimony in federal district, state, bankruptcy, and tax courts in commercial disputes involving trademark infringement, false advertising, unfair competition, brand valuation, and related matters.  The range of subjects about which his expert testimony has been admitted includes lost profits, defendant’s profits, corrective advertising, licensing royalties, valuation, and strategy. 

Scott has long held an interest in the trademark and branding field, including his involvement with the International Trademark Association (INTA) since 1988 (then U.S.T.A.) where over the years he has served on a number of programming and policy related committees.  Prior to joining Epsilon Economics, Scott served as a vice president at Charles River Associates and as a leader of its trademark practice.  He also served as an economist at the Michigan Department of Commerce; as an economist and executive director at Data Research Center; and as a founding member of the IPC Group consulting practice.
